6 of the DIRTIEST things in a hotel room:
- The bed spread. They’re usually not changed out between guests, and some experts claim the bedspreads may only get washed and changed about 4 times a year.
- Remote control. This is THE dirtiest thing in the room. Not to freak you out, but they have found colonies of E. coli on remotes, which most often comes from fecal contamination.
- Drinking glasses. An ABC investigation found that some hotels don’t follow health codes when cleaning glasses. They should be tossed in the dishwasher and sterilized.
- Hotel information/Menu folder. How often do you think those pages get a through wipe down?
- These are just a hotbed of germ activity.
- This isn’t from a lack of changing the cases. Clean pillowcases can get dirty if the housekeepers put them on adjacent furniture or if they fall on (cue the scary music) THE CARPET.
