My Experience With The Cleansing Trio
Hello and so excited I did this cleanse.
Did I really say that?
I am so thankful Brenda shared that she was going to do this challenge and I jumped right in, I wanted to do one, as I have been doing cleanses quarterly again and knew I have a ways to go, with my diet changes and help with keeping on track.
I want to share with you that I have done cleanses in the past but never the Cleansing Trio.
I typically don’t do well with high fiber cleanses. So, this round, I started out with two of the 3 products and added in the high fiber product (ICP) in but started really slow and with only 1/4 tsp, at night, a couple of weeks in. Thank you Brenda, for being a great mentor for this challenge and giving us suggestions or alternatives to do.
This was my hang up and I wanted to get over it and be able to use fiber to get the “gunk” out of me.
So, at the start of this cleanse I took my weight and measurements. At the end of this cleanse, I lost 14# (163 to 149) and lost 1 inch off of each thigh. Okay, I will take that but I thought for sure I lost more inches as my clothing fits better and I am not bloated!!! Yes, I did say, that, didn’t I? That has been my challenge and knowing that adding in fiber would only add to it, was holding me back on ever using ICP again. Thanks, Brenda you helped me get over it.
For those who are blue/red mostly. This post is for you. I am not a great one to stick to a protocol for long, unless I see or feel changes, right away. So, how did I get over that too? Tracking. I got a small notebook, kept it in the bathroom and wrote last thing at night, what I ate, how I felt and and changes.
Thank goodness…..I did the notebook.
On the first day after I woke up, I realized I was aching and sore from eating too much salty, sweets and white flour products. Reading that, woke me up (hahah pun intended) to what habits I had fallen away from.I wrote down my foods I had ate the day before and seeing that in writing and knowing I that list of foods was high on white flour, white sugar and who knows the type of salt…got me charged up, to do better. Better for me and those around me. Right?!
\Liquid Intake:
I took half my weight, in ounces of water a day, so water changing wasn’t an issue for me. I love to drink it…flavored with oils or not. What is my summertime favorite? Slique Essence as it helps curb my cravings, a lite sweet taste without the white sugar, and also a drop works all day in the same water container.
I loved the suggestion from Brenda, on taking the lemon drink, first thing in the am. I do this 4-5x a week and love it!!
I still did my 1-2 c of morning coffee too.
Food Intake:
I worked on changing out foods with dairy, to ones that were made with coconut or almond base. For example, I cut out my cold cereal in the am but switched to coconut or almond yogurt and added a bit of homemade granola with fruit in it, typically berries.
I cut down on proportions of so called bad food (for me) and increased the good food amounts on my dinner plate. I am not a big eater so I knew it was the foods I was taking in.
I love smoothies/shakes so about 5 days of the week, replaced one meal with a shake/smoothie. Added in lots of fruit and also spinach.
Then I worked on cutting out the foods that were tougher to get through the cleanse (like pork and beef), if I ate them on a special occasion, I really cut down on the amount I ate.
Focused on fruit and veggies…as much as I could.
Eating Habits:
I love to fast, so this was an easy add in, I would stop eating around 9-10pm and go until noonish or longer, the next day. I did this a few times a week. I also did one 24 hour period, with only liquids.
I struggled on day 4, waking up to an infected, cracked tooth and it threw me for a loop. I almost dropped out…as it took so much energy working with getting it to calm down and figure out what to do with it. This group helped me with ideas here too. Yah!! It was a great community of help!
I cut out the foods in my snacking that were from the “snack section” and went to fresh fruits, veggies and more water.
I had 9 weeks of guest until yesterday…so try that on for size, during a cleanse. Hey? I didn’t beat myself up, when I took something that I normally wouldn’t have. I told myself to look at my daily intake and what part of all the food, was it?
Remember, it’s a process to change.
I did not only a cleanse but was working on food habits, in the presence of many major life events and a road trip even.
Supplements:
Cleansing Trio (next 3 items)
Comfortone: started with 2 and went to 3 am and pm
ICP: 2 weeks in and added 1/4 of tsp and worked up to 1 tsp, at night
Essentialzyme: 1 with non shake meal
Essentialzyme4: with any meal that had pork or beef it in (1-2x a week)
These supplements take prior but continued:
Ningxia Red – 2-8 ounces daily
Super B’s – 2 capsules daily
Super C’s – 1-2 daily
Nitro – one added to NIngxia, 3x a week
Sulfurzyme – 1 tsp daily, 4-5x a week
Cortistop – 1 am and 2 pm, 4-5x week
Take many more, as optional but these are my staples.
So, how did the cleanse work for me?
I have way less bloating. My stomach “kangaroo pooch” has gone down in size. This is what I really wanted to happen and I am going to continue. I have way more better days with my gut than I did before I started.
I found I can do fiber but just low amounts. Yah! Now I can take this full cleanse!
My energy is great and I love how I feel, not so achy and sore on my joints also.
I found some great food alternatives. My favorite was the brand of pumpkin seeds I found. Along with finding out I love coconut based yogurt. Thanks to this group for so many yummy food recipes. It sure helped when the ideas would dry up. I would go back into the group and see what to try next.
I loved this and will continue it, as my next goal is still work on the rest of the pooch and the dark lining of the colon. Along with adding in daily exercise.
Thank you, Brenda Schuler for putting this on!!!
